Two years ago, on August 28, 2012, our lives changed forever. Isabella was hospitalized for 4 days and we left knowing that her life was literally in our hands. Instead of dwelling on her diagnosis we made the decision that we’d fight for her, and all others with T1D, until a cure is found.
Instead of reflecting on August 28th as a day of sadness, we’ve decided we will CELEBRATE!
Why would we do that, you ask?
Because we want to celebrate her bravery, her resilience, and her strength…and because we want to celebrate all of the advances that are happening in T1D research this year! We will also celebrate because August 28, 2012 was the day we began our journey…our journey to change the world and find a cure for type 1 diabetes!
Please join us by having a day filled with blue: the color of diabetes awareness. Wear blue clothing, eat blue food, watch a Blue Jays game, sing “Blue Velvet”…whatever you want to do to celebrate with us from wherever you are! Hey, why not send us a photo or video of how you helped us celebrate and we can share it here? Wouldn’t that be a”bluetiful” gesture?
